The third annual In the Spirit: Contemporary Northwest Native Arts Exhibit showcases the work of contemporary Native artists, many living and working in the Pacific Northwest.

In the Spirit is a celebration of how today's Native American art blends time-honored traditions with modern sensibilities. Among the artists included in last year's exhibition were Andrea Wilbur-Sigo, Pat Courtney Gold, Chloe French, Nathaniel P. Wilkerson, Jennifer Johns, Susan Pavel, and Lillian Pitt. Works from these prominent local artists range from large-scale carvings and beautiful serigraphs, to intricate fiber arts and unique sculptures.

Opening Program and Reception
Thursday, June 19 at 5 PM

Join the celebration at the History Museum on opening night! The evening will kick-off with traditional Native drumming in the museum's Grand Lobby. Several awards for the juried art exhibit will be presented, including "Best in Show." The In the Spirit exhibition opening is FREE and open to the public.
