GENERAL INFORMATION

The In the Spirit Art Market and Festival will be open June 28 and 29, 2008.

Booth fee: $150.00

NOTE: Market vendors selected to participate in the festival must submit their booth fee to the Washington State Historical Society by June 2, 2008.

ELIGIBILITY

Vendor eligibility is in compliance with the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 (P.L.101-644). A vendor must be a member of a state- or federally-recognized tribe, or certified as a tribal artisan by a tribe. New artists are required to send a copy of their Tribal Enrollment documentation, listing your enrollment number.

APPLICATION PROCESS

All vendors must apply to be part of the outdoor art market by April 21, 2007. If you have previously been a vendor, you must still apply but do not need to submit images. All new vendors must submit two images of sample artwork to be sold, along with the application.

HOW TO SUBMIT

New vendors are required to send a copy of their Tribal Enrollment documentation, listing enrollment number. Send all application materials to Melissa Parr at the address listed above. Applications must be postmarked by April 21, 2008.

NOTIFICATION

The list of vendors selected to participate in the market will be posted on this web site, and the web site of the Longhouse Education and Cultural Center on May 19, 2008. Vendors will also be notified via email and post.

PAYMENT

Payment for the vending space secures your spot and will be due by June 2, 2008. All unreserved booths will be made available to other artists on June 3, 2008.

EVENT LOGISTICS

Set up begins at 8:00am June 28. To volunteer to help with set up, please contact Melissa Parr at 360-586-0169, or at mparr@wshs.wa.gov.

BOOTHS

Tent size is 10' X 10'.
One table with tablecloth and two chairs will be provided.
Museum passes and booth assignments will be available at the Information table.
Overnight storage of merchandise will be available in the museum loading dock. Vendors will be responsible for moving items to the storage location, and will be required to sign a waiver form.

Selected vendors and artists of In the Spirit Northwest Native Arts Market and Festival give Washington State Historical Society and the Longhouse Education and Cultural Center permission use images of artwork and festival activities for publicity and fundraising purposes.
